Examines the role of the nurse as leader and manager of a health care team using concepts and theories of organization management, leadership, change, decision making, and group process. Discusses findings of current research related to nursing management and leadership. Students gain understanding of how nursing leadership influences patient care and team functioning in practice. Discusses the role of the nurse as leader in providing care for patients with complex health care needs. Springs. Prerequisite(s): Pre-Licensure Nursing majors only; Junior status. (INCO)
