Plymouth State University applicants are no longer required to submit SAT or ACT test scores.*
In keeping with our long-standing application review procedures, PSU will continue to:
- concentrate on an applicant’s academic performance in high school as the primary factor in offering admission;
- recalculate a GPA for each and every applicant, considering the student’s grades in only the five core academic areas: English, math, science, social studies and foreign language;
- recognize challenging academic curricula by giving extra weight to honors, AP, IB, and college-level courses; and
- strongly consider each applicant’s extracurricular involvement, admissions essay, and a recommendation from a high school teacher and/or counselor.
If applicants choose to submit their test scores, we will view these as supplementary materials that these students are proud of and have chosen to share as a part of their application.
