In addition to working, homework and laundry, Plymouth students take advantage of the numerous student organizations, activities and events on campus organized through the Hartman Union. The campus is alive with cultural activities, as well. There are numerous concerts, lectures, art exhibitions, films, theatre performances and more. If you enjoy the outdoors, there’s plenty of hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, cycling, canoeing and kayaking in the summer, fall and spring. And in the winter, PSU is within 25 miles of six different ski resorts.

Plymouth State University policy states that all students are required to live on campus if space is available. This policy is sometimes adjusted in order to best fit the needs of the community and campus. Entering students who will be 20 years old by September 1 or who have earned 45 or more credits are eligible to live off campus unless they have signed a PSU lease agreement or paid a PSU housing deposit.

High school curriculum and grades are the most important admission factors. Most admitted students present a gpa that ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) in a traditional college prep curriculum of math (3 years), science (3 years), social studies (3 years), English (4 years), and a foreign language (2 years). While there is no minimum cut-off, the test scores of most admitted students range from 900 to 1100 on the SAT (Critical Reading + Math) and 19 to 24 on the ACT (Composite score). Recommendation, essay, personal qualities, and activities are also important.

Many Plymouth faculty members are well known in their professional fields. Members of the business department serve as consultants to major companies and mentor up-and-coming firms. English professors publish fiction and poetry and have their plays produced Off-Broadway. The list of accomplishments goes on, but teaching remains a top priority for every faculty member.

PSU is the perfect place to be able to meet new people, have new experiences and just have an overall positive place to learn and have fun. I found by getting involved at school and keeping busy has allowed me to have a really great time at Plymouth State for the past couple years.
