Why did you choose to come to Plymouth State?

Awesome atmosphere, awesome people, and just an overall awesome place to be!

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“The professors within all the departments are stellar; they truly care and will go to great lengths to guarantee your success as a student. The personal touch they all bring to the programs make things great as well.”

What is your favorite place to hang out on campus? Off campus?

“On campus, I love hanging out on Mary Lyon green with a group of friends. Off campus, Plymouth’s downtown area has several amazing boutique places to shop. My favorite’s Sunflower; I could buy out the store!”

How have you changed since you first arrived at PSU?

“I’ve definitely become more independent living on my own. Through the Admissions program especially, I feel as though I’ve also grown quite comfortable talking with others.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“I love that the professors are so willing to get to know me and help me out in avenues outside of their classroom. They want to see me succeed. Their excitement and energy about the subject matter is contagious.”

What is your favorite place to hang out on campus? Off campus?

“On campus my favorite place is definitely the HUB. There is always something going on there, even in the dead of winter! When I’m off campus I love hiking and with so many hikes close it is hard to pick just one favorite.”

If you could choose one favorite thing about going to school here, what would it be?

“Location: You can’t ask for better east coast skiing. With three mountains so close it is possible to go to class in the morning and head up to the mountain for some afternoon skiing. Every outdoor recreational activity you could possibly want to do is possible in Plymouth, be it hiking, rock climbing, or paddling. Being two hours outside of Boston is also key—it’s nice to have city life close too if you need a weekend escape.”

Why did you choose to come to Plymouth State?

“I chose Plymouth State because the University is close to my hometown and I love the look and feel the campus. Plymouth is the perfect size, it has a great business program, which is my major, and I love the surroundings around the campus, the skiing and hiking.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“The thing that I like best about the business department and classes that I take is that a lot of the teachers are very friendly and approachable. Even if I am taking a class in a lecture hall the teachers still get to know you and will recognize you when they see you outside the classroom.”

What activities are you involved in outside of class?

“Outside of class I am a member and the vice president of Women’s rugby, I am a member of MAPS (which stands for Marketing Association of Plymouth State) I am an admission rep (so I give tours of campus) and I work on the Rec. Programs marketing team. At work I work with other students to maintain Rec. Programs Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and we take pictures and videos of all the events and intramural sports that Rec. Programs run.”

How have you changed since you first arrived at PSU?

“I have changed a lot since I started attending PSU. In high school I was very quiet when talking to people and not very outgoing. Since then I have become very outgoing and gained self confidence. Everything that I have done while at Plymouth State has helped to build my self confidence.”

Why did you choose to come to Plymouth State?

“I chose to come to Plymouth State because of the beautiful scenery and friendly campus environment.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“The best part of my major is that all of my teachers have had hands-on experience and are very knowledgeable.”

What is your favorite place to hang out on campus? Off campus?

“My favorite place to hang out on campus would be the coffee shop inside of the HUB. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy bagels and coffee, while catching up with friends, classmates, and even professors. Off Campus my favorite place to be is on top of Rattlesnake Mountain, the view is magnificent!”

How have you changed since you first arrived at PSU?

“Over the past three years, I have gotten to know who I truly am. If it wasn’t for Plymouth State University, I never would have met some of the people that have helped me become who I am today.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“I just recently switched my major to Communications because I was really interested in the film and media studies.”

What activities are you involved in outside of class?

“I play Field Hockey and I am a part of the Early Childhood Studies Club!”

If you could choose one favorite thing about going to school here, what would it be?

“The atmosphere. Everyone around campus is always really friendly! The professors are so helpful and always there to answer any questions you have.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“I appreciate the fact that I am able to have small personal classroom settings where dialogue is encouraged. It is wonderful to have teachers available who are invested and want to see their students succeed.”

What activities are you involved in outside of class?

“I lead the TRiO scholars program, tutor, do study skills, am an orientation leader, vice president of Phi Kappa Phi honor society, part of CJ honor society, participate minimally with common ground, and a tour guide.”

If you could choose one favorite thing about going to school here, what would it be?

“Location—you can’t beat getting a discount at fabulous mountains and having the ability to ride them daily during the winter.
The fact that it’s a personal campus is a plus as well.”

Why did you choose to come to Plymouth State?

“I chose to come to Plymouth State because of its beautiful location at the crest of the White Mountains. The small town and tight community that Plymouth offers also appealed to me! Every time I come back to Plymouth it is as if I can take a step back and be at ease…it’s like coming home.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“I love being a part of the education program at Plymouth State. Since my teachers are teaching us how to teach, I feel that they truly understand the entire student/ teacher dynamics; what works and what does not. For example, it is rare that I ever have to take a formal exam, because my teachers understand the advantages to hands on approaches and the different learning styles of their students.”

How have you changed since you first arrived at PSU?

“I feel that I have fully discovered who I am and the person I strive to be. It was never until I went to Plymouth that I started counting down the days until summer ended!”

What is your favorite place to hang out on campus? Off campus?

“On campus: There is a bench behind Grafton Hall that overlooks D&M, the rotary, and has a great view of the mountains. Off campus: College Town Pizza…SO delicious.”

What do you like best about your major/academic program?

“The CJ and Soc. Departments have shown a lot of interest in their students and really want success for them. I haven’t had a professor yet that I didn’t feel extremely comfortable around!”

If you could choose one favorite thing about going to school here, what would it be?

“I would have to say the student population is my one favorite thing about PSU. I never feel like a number around campus and like that my professors know me by my first name. That was definitely one concern I had when choosing a school and have had no problems so far here at PSU.”

How have you changed since you first arrived @ PSU?

“In the beginning, I was definitely shy and nervous about starting my college career. Going into my second year, I have made some great new friends and am beyond excited to be back. ”

“I have realized how important my academics are and how not just the athletic parts of my life are going to make me succeed. Having all these experiences and interesting classes makes me like going to class and learning about my major.”
