Supporting Faculty who Educate the Educators

It was the fall of 1958 when Meredith Bristow ’62 sat down next to Wally Stevens ’62 in Professor Mary Bilheimer’s biology class. Back then the two students only shared a microscope. Today, they share more than a half-century of marriage, three sons, many grandchildren, and a love of the place where it all began: Plymouth State University.

Over the years the Stevenses have generously supported the University with their time and resources. In 2007 they established Plymouth State’s first endowed professorship, the Stevens-Bristow Distinguished Professorship, which honors faculty members from any discipline who work in teacher preparation. “We believe that PSU’s faculty is the core of the University,” says Wally Stevens, “and we want to honor them.”
