Carol is currently Principal of Wingate Enterprises Consulting, a proprietorship she shares with her husband, Richard, a former corporation lawyer. She is the recent Interim Executive Director of the Greater Meredith Program and has served as the Executive Director of CHMM Community Caregivers Inc. from 2008-2011. In addition, she previously served for seven years as the Director of the Inter-Lakes Senior Center in Meredith.
Prior to relocating to Meredith in 2001, Carol was employed by the Du Page Children’s Museum in Wheaton and Naperville, Illinois. Her responsibilities included management of the Museum store; facilitator and trainer in customer services for staff and volunteers; and as special events planner and fundraiser. A graduate of Plymouth State University, Carol has worked as an elementary teacher in Connecticut.
From 1996-1999, she served as an elected Trustee of the Glen Ellyn Public Library. Carol has been an active volunteer and community advocate serving as PTA President at both the Elementary and Jr. High School levels in addition to serving on various community boards in Illinois. In 2001, Carol was named to the President’s Council at Plymouth State University. She serves on the Executive and Campaign Steering Committees. Carol is currently the President’s Council Liaison to the PSU Alumni Board of Directors.
As a member of the Town of Meredith, NH, Community Center Search Committee, both she and Richard were active in that private/public fundraising campaign. Carol is a graduate of Leadership Lakes Region and is active in her community as a member of ALTRUSA International, volunteer with the Greater Meredith Program Promotions Committee, and serves on the Belknap County ServiceLink Steering Committee. She co-chaired the Page Pond and Forest Conservation Leadership Campaign Committee dedicated to raising private funds for land conservation. The Meredith Rotary Club honored her with the “Service Above Self” community service award in 2009.
