PSUAA Welcomes New Board Members

The Plymouth State Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomed three new members at their September 7 meeting: Mike Gratton ’95, Shawn O’Brien ’86, and Joan Tambling ’83G. We asked our newest members what they hope to accomplish during their respective terms on the board:

Mike Gratton ’95
Merrimack, NH
Director of Human Resources Operations, Skillsoft

“I hope I can use my Human Resources experience as an employer to bring a unique perspective to PSU’s Career Services Program and further enhance students and alumni in their own career development and employment opportunities.”

Shawn O’Brien ’86
Fremont, NH
Neuroscience Specialty Sales, Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Officer, NH Army National Guard

“In the military, I spend a significant amount of time mentoring junior officers on their career. I am very interested in the area of helping PSU’s students find opportunities to work and build careers. I am excited about the development of the career services program at PSU and feel my time would be well spent helping the administration grow this exciting program.”

Joan Tambling ’83G
Strafford, NH
Former Chief Human Resource Officer, University System of New Hampshire

“To be a contributor to “making friends” for the University. I believe that there are significant external factors, including political polarization, financial strain, untested but exciting alternatives to the way learning is achieved, and speed of technology change, which make it important that PSU have as many friends and contributors that alumni can help garner. On a personal basis, I would like to use my considerable experience with board dynamics and with higher education to enhance the Alumni Association’s sponsorship of events, ideas, and advocacy efforts that serve to bring out the best in people and organizations.”

Brandon Pierre ’16 joins the board as the 2013-14 Alumni Fellow.
