Alumni Weekend 2010 Schedule of Events

Planning us underway. Below is the event schedule for 2009 to give you an idea of what Alumni Weekend is like. Check back in the coming months for 2010 events.

Friday, June 26, 2009

7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Lamson Library Open – Visit the Lamson Learning Commons, a magnificent resource for students, faculty and the community.
9 a.m. –4 p.m.

Campus Bookstore Open - Get your Plymouth State gear here!

10 a.m. 2nd Annual Alumni Golf Tournament, Jack O Lantern Golf Resort, Woodstock - Arrive early for the weekend and hit the links at a great course just up the road, Owl’s Nest Golf Club in Campton. Pre-registration is required. Click here for more information.
11 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Mountain View Snack Bar Open - For a quick bite to eat.

12 - 4 p.m. Bi-Annual Ashland Garden Club Flower Show: "A Floral Fashion Show," Drerup Art Gallery- The show will showcase 24 floral designs as examples of horticultural excellence and educational exhibits. Floral designers are members of the New Hampshire Federation of Garden Clubs and National Garden Clubs, Inc. Donations are appreciated at the door.
3–6 p.m. Registration/Check-In - Come to Alumni Weekend Headquarters in the HUB to check-in and pick up registration materials, including keys for those who will be spending a night on campus.
6-9 p.m.

Alumni Social at Biederman’s Pub and Deli - Gather at Scott ’75 and Patti (Ryan) ’76 Biederman’s restaurant in downtown Plymouth for a night of great food and fun.

6 p.m. (tentative) Class of 1959 Gathering on Stinson Lake - Join Simone (Hebert) '59 and Thomas '60 Thurston at their home on Stinson Lake. Kick of your reunion weekend here!

7-9 a.m. Early Risers Caffeine Boost - For Langdon Woods overnight guests that can’t wait until 9 a.m. for their coffee at the registration table.
8:30 a.m. –6 p.m. Lamson Library Open – Visit the Lamson Learning Commons, a magnificent resource for students, faculty and the community.
9 a.m.–6 p.m. Registration/Check-In - Come to Alumni Weekend Headquarters to check in and pick up registration materials, including keys, for those that will spend a night on campus. Complimentary continental breakfast will be available in the morning.
10 a.m.–4 p.m. Campus Bookstore Open - Get your Plymouth State gear here!

10 a.m.

Mary Lyon Tour - Mary Lyon Hall underwent a full renovation last year. Come see how the University maintained the historical features of the building while upgrading the infrastructure and accessibility!

10 a.m.

Motorcycle Tour of the Northcountry- Meet on campus before heading north. After you decide on a destination as a group, Mo Day '78 will lead you on a relaxed tour into the afternoon, with a stop for lunch along the way.

11 a.m. Heritage Society and Donor Reception - All Heritage Society members and alumni donors to Plymouth State will be honored at our annual special reception.
Noon Traditional Alumni Served Luncheon - Everyone is invited to join us for this elegant luncheon. The classes of 1929, 1934, 1939, 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959 and the classes of 1972-75 will use this as their reunion meal. Wine is included with your choice of Salmon with Lemon Dill Sauce; Chicken Saltimbocca; or Tournedos Rossini: beef fillet medallions wrapped in bacon with mushroom demi-glace.
1-2:30 p.m.

Dessert reception with Faculty and Staff - All are invited to come enjoy a complimentary dessert buffet with current faculty, staff and students. Talk with them about how they are making Plymouth State University what it is today!

2 p.m.

Memorial service for 2004 Classmates - Alumni gather to remember classmates who have passed away.

2:30-4 p.m.

2:30 p.m.

"Green Ice" Presentation - PSU's commitment to sustainability is reflected in programs and buildings throughout campus, as well as in the plans for the new ice arena. Learn more about the environmental design that will minimize our carbon footprint, and how geothermal technology will make "green ice" in the new arena.

3 p.m.

Veterans Common Dedication - Plymouth State University, the Office of Alumni Relations and Phi Beta Upsilon Fraternity will honor all Plymouth alumni who served in the military at the dedication of Veterans Common. A reunion photo for veterans and reception will follow.

4 p.m.

Piano Monster Concert - Come see the final concert of the 2009 Senior Piano Monster Festival. Students from across New England participate in this annual summer camp, coordinated by Dr. Carleen Graff, Music Theater and Dance. At the concert, students play two to a piano with multiple pianos being played at the same time. This year students will play under conductor Carolyn Miller, a nationally know composer. Students will play Ms. Miller’s pieces among others.

Remaining tickets will also be available at the box office one hour before the concert.

4-7 p.m.

Phi Beta Upsilon Cocktail Party - Phi Beta Upsilon brothers will celebrate their reunion and invite all PSU veterans to stop by before going to the BBQ. A Phi Beta Upsilon reunion photo will be taken and the group will go see the "famous" mural in the basement of their old fraternity house during this time.

5 p.m.

Pizza Party for Children - While parents are at their reunion diner, the kids have pizza party. Childcare is not provided so caregivers must accompany the children at this event.

5 p.m.

Evening BBQ - All alumni and guests are welcome to attend with alumni veterans and Child Development and Family Center alumni, who will gather for their celebratory meal. Steak, chicken, salads, sides and desserts will be served buffet style.

5:15 p.m.

Class of 2004 Reunion - The class of 2004 will gather for a reunion photo before boarding buses to go to their reunion dinner/dance aboard the M/S Mount Washington on Lake Winnipesaukee.

7-11 a.m.

Early Risers Caffeine Boost - For Langdon Woods overnight guests that can’t wait until 8 a.m. for their coffee at the hearty breakfast.

8 –11 a.m.

Overnight Guest Check-out - Please return your keys to the student ambassadors in the lobby.

8–10 a.m.

Hearty breakfast - We send you on your way with a hearty breakfast of French Toast, made to order omelets, bacon, homefries, assorted pastries, muffins, bagels, fresh fruit and all the fixings. All alumni are encouraged to join us for breakfast in Prospect Dining Hall regardless of whether or not you spent the night on campus.
