Rebecca (DuBois) Beaudoin ’04
BA in Communications
Rebecca Beaudoin ’04 credits her Plymouth State education with giving her the confidence and worldly experience that shapes every single opinion, thought, feeling, and endeavor that she embarks on today. “It was those four years that prepared me for the outside world and provided the relationships and communication to be successful.”
Beaudoin’s advisor, Professor Emeritus William Taffe, was especially influential during her time at Plymouth State, and encouraged her to make her first trip abroad. “I attended a language school in Guatemala in 2001 that Bill (and his wife Betty Jo) had attended 11 years prior. It was a life-changing experience that I never would have made if he hadn’t had faith enough in me to suggest it…He continues to give me an endless amount of inspiration.”
As an international transportation specialist with rail industry supplier, New York Air Brake in Watertown, New York, Beaudoin works with clients around the globe, handling tariff classifications, preparing export documents, and managing NAFTA solicitations and maintenance.
Beaudoin recalls, “Being a Top 20 Senior made a valuable deposit into my motivational piggy bank- which is encouragement to keep succeeding and living up to the expectations set for me!” She is doing just that—and is currently working toward her master’s degree in childhood education at The State University of New York at Potsdam while raising two children, Joseph and Ella, with her husband Eric.
