Joseph Daniel McCool is a proud alumnus and longtime friend of Plymouth State. Joe is currently the editor in chief of Executive Recruiter News, a monthly newsletter published by Peterborough-based Kennedy Information, Inc., which has covered the global business of executive search consulting since 1980. In that role, he has become the world's most widely quoted expert on issues of executive recruitment and management succession. Joe was previously a freelance correspondent for regional and national media throughout the United States, having served as a New Hampshire contributor to The New York Times and news correspondent for UPI, New Hampshire Public Radio, Boston Herald, The Union Leader & New Hampshire Sunday News and the Washington Times. His work has been honored by both the New England Press Association and the Massachusetts Press Association.

While a student at Plymouth, Joe was twice elected Student Body President, served three years as a Student Admissions Representative and also worked as a Resident Assistant for three years. He was also recognized as New Hampshire's outstanding student leader. He has served as a student representative to the PSUAA Board of Directors. After graduation, Joe became an active volunteer with the PSUAA. He has served on the PSUAA Board of Directors, was a member of the PSUAA Activities Committee and served two years as President. Joe has served as a Class Agent for the Class of 1991 for 10 years. In 2001, he received the Alumni Achievement Award.
