Progress continues on the Welcome Center and Ice Arena. The dasher boards are finished and the bleachers are in.

The first layer of what will be many miles of pipe is being installed at the new arena. There will be three layers of pipes before five inches of concrete is poured on top of it all.
The first layer seen in these photos will carry warm glycol that will keep the earth beneath the ice from freezing. Heat generated while chilling the ice will be used to keep this layer warm. Nothing goes to waste. Without this warm layer, the earth beneath the rink would freeze and eventually heave and cause the concrete slab to crack.

There will be ice times available for public sessions, ice hockey, figure skating, birthday parties and much more.
