Congratulations to PSU Men’s Ice Hockey

March 5th, 2012 by Marcy

All of us at Hanaway Ice Arena would like to congratulate Coach Craig Russell and the PSU Men’s Ice Hockey Team on their recent accomplishments. Finishing first in the MASCAC conference with a conference record of 12-3-3. This accomplishment place the team in the position of drawing a bye for the first round and hosting the second round game against Worcester State. Posting a 7-1 victory.

The men followed this with hosting the Championship game against Salem State. This was the first time in 26 years that the PSU hockey team as made it into the championship game, in 1986 they lost to Curry in a 6-0 game. In a very exciting double over time game in front of a sold out crowd Junior Kyle Weiland scored the winning goal to take the Panthers to a 5-4 win over Salem and the first ever conference championship, and earning him MVP player of MASCAC Championships.

Good Luck in the NCAA tournament Gentlemen.

Fan Appreciation Day

January 24th, 2012 by Marcy

Governor John Lynch and First Lady Dr. Susan Lynch attended PSU’s Fan Appreciation event. Prior to the PSU woman’s hockey they took time to visit with the some of the the Plymouth Preditors, a local youth hockey team. After signing a cast and having his picture taken with the team, it was time to drop the cerimonial puck for the women’s game.
