New Faculty 2005-2006

Samoela Andriani, contract faculty in chemistry, holds a Ph.D. in physics-chemistry, an M.S. in organic chemistry, a B.A. in business administration and a B.S. in mathematics from Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, France. Andriani previously taught at Central Ohio Technical College, Columbus State Community College, Ohio State University, Stanford University and the University of Torino (Italy).

David Beronä, director of Lamson Library, holds an M.S. in library science from Simmons College and an M.A. in liberal studies from the University of New Hampshire. His undergraduate degree is from Wright State University in Ohio. He comes to PSU from UNH, where he was an associate professor and head of library systems. He previously held positions at the University of New England and Westbrook College.

Thomas Boucher, assistant professor for statistics and mathematics, holds a Ph.D. in statistics from Texas A&M University, and an M.S. and B.S. from the University of Massachusetts–Lowell. He formerly taught at both institutions.

Samuel Brickley, contract faculty in business law, holds J.D. and MBA degrees from the University of San Diego, and an A.B. degree from Cornell University. He previously taught at the University of Delaware and New Hampshire College.

James “Joss” French, assistant professor of curriculum and instruction in the Education Department, holds a Ph.D. in multicultural and bilingual education, an M.A. in education, a B.A. in Spanish, and a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Connecticut. He previously taught at Roger Williams University and St. Joseph’s College.

Annette Holba is assistant professor of communication studies, with a Ph.D. in rhetorical studies from Duquesne University, an M.A. in liberal studies from Rutgers, and a B.A. in law-justice studies from Rowan University. Holba previously taught at Pennsylvania State University, Washington and Jefferson College, and Duquesne University.

Anita Lee, assistant professor of physical education, holds a D.P.E. degree in physical education, an M.A. in recreation management from Springfield College and a B.A. in physical education and recreation studies from Hong Kong Baptist University. She was formerly a graduate associate at Springfield College and a lecturer at Elms College.

Ann McClellan, assistant professor of 20th century British literature, holds a Ph.D. in English literature, an M.A. in literature from the University of Cincinnati and a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan. McClellan comes to PSU from Eureka College.

Kevin McGuire is research assistant professor of hydrology in Plymouth State University’s Center for the Environment. He holds a Ph.D. in forest engineering (hydrology) from Oregon State University, an M.S. in forest resources with emphasis in water resources from Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. in environmental science from Susquehanna University. McGuire previously taught at Oregon State University and Pennsylvania State University.

Samuel Miller, contract faculty in meteorology, holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in earth science, and a B.S. in physics from the University of New Hampshire. He was previously a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NOAA) and an instructor at UNH.

Filiz Otucu is assistant professor of political science and international studies, and holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Kentucky, an M.A. in political science from the University of Central Oklahoma and a B.A. in international relations from Marmara University in Turkey. Otucu previously taught at Transylvania University and Eastern Kentucky University as visiting faculty.

Royce Robertson, instructor of childhood studies, education and technology, is completing his doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Argosy University. He holds an M.Ed. in school administration and supervision and a CAGS in educational leadership from PSU, and a B.S. in secondary education from Western Michigan University. Robertson previously served as adjunct faculty at Plymouth State as well as coordinator of the University’s Technology and Learning Center.

Allen Ropiecki is contract faculty in organizational development, behavior and communication. He holds a Ph.D. in business administration/marketing from Southwest University, an MBA from New Hampshire College, and a B.S. in marketing and management from New York University. Ropiecki previously taught at Marist College, Rockland Community College and Orange County Community College.

Corinna-Luminita Rosioru, visiting professor of anatomy and physiology, holds a Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. from Babes-Bolyai University in Romania, where she holds a chair in experiment biology.

Natalya Vinogradova, assistant professor of mathematics education, holds a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University at Buffalo (SUNY), and an M.S. in mathematics from St. Petersburg State University in Russia. Vinogradova previously taught mathematics at Nichols School, Philips Exeter Academy and Pedagogical University in Petrozavodsk, Russia.

Anil Waghe, assistant professor of chemistry, holds a Ph.D. in synthetic organic/surface chemistry from the University of Maine, an M.S. in organic/polymer chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology and a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Bombay (both in India). Waghe previously served as postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oklahoma and taught at the University of Maine.

Kimberly Williams, associate professor of curriculum and instruction, holds a Ph.D. in cultural foundations of education, an M.S. in higher education administration from Syracuse University, and a B.S. in psychology from St. Lawrence University. She previously taught at SUNY–Cortland.
