
About Professor Wirth
Joan Wirth is a visual artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Bard College, NY. She has held faculty and art curator positions at several NH colleges, teaching Drawing, Painting, Color and Design, Creative Expression, Art History and Tribal Art courses. She has also conducted art workshops throughout NH and Maine in Wilderness Adventure programs, and offers art classes at her studio since l989. In earlier experience as founder and artistic director of a touring educational theatre, she created a synthesis of the visual arts, choreographed movements, poetry and music. The productions and workshops for teachers received sponsorship funding from the Connecticut Council of the Arts. She has been the recipient of several community service awards. Publications, writings and research projects include works on creativity, seven theatrical scripts, a children's book of original artwork, and four major fully funded grants. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Connecticut and New Hampshire, and are included in collections throughout New England.
