About Marguerite Crowell

During the academic year, Marguerite is the technical specialist, laboratory manager, and adjunct faculty in chemistry.  In addition, she has been aligning the curriculum for PSU's new chemistry education degree with state and national standards for state certification.  Since arriving at PSU in 1993, she has been a laboratory instructor in chemistry, forensics, geology, earth science, physical science, and biology.  She has taught courses in lab safety and first-year seminar, and regularly presents at national chemistry conferences, and serves on the Media Advisory Board here at PSU.

In the summer, Marguerite has participated as a science educator in chemistry for the Pakistani Educational Leadership Institutute (PELI) for three years.  She has incorporated her knowledge in chemistry education and her collaborative work with the Hubbard Brook Experimental Research Station into the environmental science education curriculum in the Pakistani Institute.  She is actively involved in community outreach through yearly visits to local schools promoting chemistry education.  Marguerite earned a B.S. in Physical Science Education from PSU, and is pursuing her Master's degree.
