

About Professor Swope
Dr. Susan K. Swope received her B.S. in Chemistry from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Prior to receiving her Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire, she worked in medical research labs at the University of Chicago and Georgetown University, where she began graduate work in physical chemistry.
At the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Swope was a member of the Chasteen research group, where her focus was in the area of physical biochemistry with a specialty in analytical spectroscopy.
Dr. Swope currently teaches courses in General Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology as well as Laboratory Techniques and Introduction to Research. She also directs undergraduate research projects for chemistry and biotechnology majors and serves as coordinator of the Biotechnology program.
