Students will demonstrate:

1.     Creative skills, literacies and competencies in the following areas:

a.     Visual problem solving

b.     Critical object making

c.      Critical thinking

d.     Critical writing

e.  Critical speaking

2.     The range of understanding and a working knowledge of diverse historical aesthetic traditions and contemporary theoretical frameworks. 

3.     Understanding of the balance of traditional arts media with cutting edge digital technology, which the artist, educator, designer and art historian employ.

4.     Awareness and understanding of the function of art as a non-verbal language of communication.

5.     Increased understabnding of real-life experiences through involvenment in internships, field experiences, practica and student teaching, which hold the potential for life-long involvement in the arts.

6.     Leadership skills to become viable and competitive candidates for employment in the workplace, production in the artist’s studio and success in graduate school.

7.     Awareness of their potential to become responsible, productive leaders in artistic communities.
