Program Goals

The Writing Faculty of the Department of English has identified five broad goals for our students. The Writing Program will foster:

1. A professional attitude toward writing.
2. An understanding of writing as both process and product.
3. An aptitude for reading critically and broadly.
4. An appreciation for the various aesthetics and requirements of different genres.
5. Proficiency in the traditional forms and formats of workplace writing.
