
About Professor Lelas
Assistant Professor Vedran Lelas received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Zagreb in Croatia in 1992. He received his Ph.D. in management science and information systems from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998. Lelas came to Plymouth State University in 2004, after serving as visiting assistant professor at Georgia State University in Atlanta and assistant professor in residence at the University of Connecticut at Stamford. Prior to beginning his teaching career, Lelas worked for a number of companies working with data in a variety of analyst positions.
Says Dr. Lelas, "I enjoy teaching classes in information technology and quantitative methods through a combination of in-class lectures and discussions, lab exercises, individual homework assignments, group projects, and frequent quizzes aimed at keeping the students actively involved. In addition to the classes taught so far, I have an interest in developing new courses in areas of systems analysis and design, data mining and decision support systems."
