About Professor Mason 

Dr. Warren Mason a professor in both the Business Department and the Department of Communication Studies, the only tenured, full professor in two departments at PSU. He joined the PSU faculty in 1982. At the graduate level he teaches organizational communication (and recently created a new certificate program in this field within the MBA program) and corporate public relations. Dr. Mason received the Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award in Business in 2003. He is also a member of the interdisciplinary honor society, Phi Kappa Phi.

Prior to teaching, Dr. Mason was an investment representative, a principal in a hotel/restaurant industry, and an advertising and promotion manager for financial institutions. He has been interviewed by numerous media outlets, such as the New York Times, ABC Television, cable and Internet television, and a National Public Radio three-part series about media and political issues relating to New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation presidential primary. Professor Mason is a member of the Association of Professional Communication Consultants, the Association for Business Communication, and the Public Relations Society of America. He regularly advises profit and nonprofit organizations on public relations and media issues. He is also on the Board of Directors of the International James Jones Literary Society, which awards writing fellowships to new authors.
