A full explanation for each abbreviation may be found at the beginning of the Standard Source Reference List below. The paintings list also includes the location and/or source of the painting.
The dictionary also includes a list of paintings by subject. In some cases, little-known or less painted areas are listed under the heading of miscellaneous.
