2009 Conference Theme
The theme of the 2009 New Hampshire Joint Water and Watershed Conference is Focusing on New Hampshire’s Water Resources: 2020 Vision
Conference Objectives: Conference participants will grow their capacity to protect water resources by:
- Learning about ground-breaking research and its application
- Receiving latest updates on water related policies and agency programs
- Gaining knowledge about effective water education and outreach
- Participating in trainings to improve organizational skills and functioning
- Sharing and understanding, concerns, accomplishments, skills and perspectives with others
- Contributing to state-wide planning efforts for New Hampshire’s water future
Conference format:
- Two days – Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21, 2009
- Plenary sessions each day
- Five concurrent tracks across both days (GIS, Stormwater, Climate Change, Watershed Management, Land Use and Land Conservation)
- One unique track for each day (Water Infrastructure – Friday; Organizational Development – Saturday)
- Difference audience emphasis each day – Friday geared more for technical/professional audiences; Saturday geared more for lay/volunteer audiences.
- Sessions of varying lengths (20, 30, 60 or 120 minutes)
- Facilitated discussions on future directions for water science, policy and practice interspersed in both days
- Ample opportunities for networking
