Climate Researcher Joins Center Faculty

Dr. Mike Prentice, a long time climate researcher at UNH, has joined the faculty of the Center for the Environment. Prentice will join the team as PSU's first Research Associate Professor—a faculty member funded entirely by grants. This joint appointment with the PSU Meteorology program further reflects the interactions in climate, weather, and the environment as emerging specialties at PSU.

Prentice studies climate at the scale of 100 years to 100,000 years. He will apply his research methods to the study of NH lakes by looking at lake sediment cores (the science of paleo-limnology). Center Director Steve Kahl who began his career in paleo-limnology will collaborate with Prentice on the project.
