Watershed hydrology, ecological and hydrological process linkages, runoff generation processes, tracer and isotope applications in hydrology, scale issues, land use and climate change effects on water resources, forest watershed management
Kevin's position is a joint appointment with the USDA Forest Service. His research interests focus on understanding how water moves through terrestrial ecosystems and into the stream environment. Kevin's approach combines field experiments using natural and artificial tracers, geochemistry, and hydrologic measurements with simple models at the hillslope and watershed scales. The overall goal of his work is to develop better conceptual models of watershed hydrological processes that can assist with management applications and in understanding environmental change and variability. With the USDA Forest Service, Kevin will be conducting research addressing environmental concerns in New England watersheds and within the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. At Plymouth State, he will be teaching several graduate and upper-level undergraduate courses in watershed hydrology and management.
