Commencement Day

  • _27_0145Prior to Commencement — provided we have good weather or only light rain, all participating graduates will meet at the HUB Courtroom at 8:45 a.m. on May 19, 2012. The graduates, led by faculty and class officers, will walk together through campus, across the bridge to the PE Center and proceed into the Field House (see campus map.)
  • The ceremony begins with a processional at 9:45 a.m. in which honorees, faculty and graduating students file into their seats in Currier Field. Once everyone is seated, the formal portion of the ceremony, which includes the conferring of degrees, begins at roughly 10 a.m.
  • In the event of pouring rain, all graduates must report directly to their inclement weather sites at 9:30 a.m. See more information about the Inclement Weather plan, which includes alternate indoor locations and video viewing areas.
  • If you are unsure that morning, call the PSU Alert Line at (603) 535-3535, the PSU operator at (603) 535-5000, or check the Plymouth State University website.

When you arrive staff members will assist in forming lines for the processional, direct you to your seats and will prompt you when it is your turn to proceed to and from the platform.
