MBA Students Help Small BusinessesPlymouth State's MBA program has won the top national Small Business Institute awards in the past six years. According to Craig Zamzow, director of Plymouth State's SBI program, "Our program has done well in the national competition since it started. One of the reasons is we've learned how to create excellent reports and one of the factors that contributes to our success is the quality of our students. They tend to be older and have had professional, real-world experience in business before they join the program." A local example of the help MBA students provide is to Patricia's Specially for You, a women's clothing store in Meredith. Graduate students Peter Wallis and Rodger Wolf produced a comprehensive business report that suggested opening a second store. Dr. Frank Kopczynski served as advisor. In another example, Hannaford Associates, based in Plymouth, provides stock car, short track racing experience for consumers. SBI students investigated how to grow the business and recommended the owners look into franchising. Abbas Ritscher, Ajibola Oyekoya and Uriwan Srisuksai wrote the study, while Zamzow was the advisor.
