Local Access Channel Guru
Wally Stuart is a specialist in Information Technology Services. He has served as the volunteer leader and administrator of Plymouth Community Channel 3 (PCC3) for about 13 years. PCC3 is the public, educational and governmental (PEG) access cable TV channel on Adelphia Communications' local fiber optic system.
PCC3 reaches approximately 5,500 Adelphia cable TV subscribers in Plymouth and nine surrounding towns. Up until the fall of 2004, when the first paid employee (a recent PSU graduate) was hired, PCC3 had been entirely staffed by volunteers like Wally.
The PEG access channel operates under the direction of the Plymouth Board of Selectmen and is funded by franchise fees paid by cable TV subscribers. PCC3's cablecasting center is housed in Pease Public Library, 1 Russell Street, Plymouth.
Wally will be retiring from Plymouth State University at the end of December 2005.
