In this course we will explore the basics of focus and attention, as well as the mind-body connection.  We will also be introduced to three relaxation techniques - Progressive Relaxation, Self-Hypnosis and 15 Minute Meditation.

     As a result of completing this course you will be able to describe how and why relaxation techniques improve focus.  You will be able to articulate the mind-body connection and its relationship to improving focus.  You will also learn how to perform and practice each of the three relaxation techniques - Progressive Relaxation, Self-Hypnosis and 15-Minute Meditation.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to self-assess your progress in improving your focus using each of the three relaxation techniques.

Although this course is asynchronous and self-paced, it is recommended that you plan on approximately 10 weeks to move through the entire course.  Modules Three (3), Four (4) and Five (5) each include a daily activity practice of 15 to 30 minutes over two (2) weeks, and module Six (6) activity includes 15-30 minutes of daily practice that spans over 30 day period.
