SW3480 - Exploring the Dominican Republic: Culture and Social Justice in a Developing Nation
Service learning travel course to the Dominican Republic. Examines issues of culture, poverty, social development, and social justice. Includes work on a designated construction project and in a local elementary school, interaction with local community leaders, and a variety of cross-cultural activities such as visiting a Haitian community, touring local schools and orphanages, and meeting local families.
