Our Philosophy
Who are we?...What do we do?
The Plymouth State University Writing Center, located in the basement of
Mary Lyon Hall, is staffed by a diverse group of students and professionals
from various disciplines. We are friendly, attentive, and supportive readers
and listeners. We strive to help all writers at any stage of the writing
process, whether brainstorming ideas, creating outlines, checking mechanics
and grammar, polishing a finished product, or citing sources. Besides our
one-on-one, personal consultations, we can offer you many resources from
both our small library and our files of graded papers from the Business,
Education, and Social Science departments, to name a few. Please note that
the University Writing Center is not a proofreading service; we specialize
in offering writers feedback and strategies for improvement.

Bring any and all ideas or drafts---no matter how small.
Bring any feedback from an instructor or other readers.
