Chemistry and Biotechnology students and faculty enjoy a day on the lake at the annual, end of the year cook-out!
Undergraduate students in chemistry and biotechnology created an American Chemical Society (ACS) Student Chapter here at PSU. Appropriately, students purchased official, monogrammed ACS lab coats, and they wear them proudly. ACS Student Chapter members and chemistry faculty and staff participated in the Environmental Fair for Earth Day at PSU.
Each year, PSU chemists and undergraduate students travel to the local Plymouth Elementary School for Chemists Celebrate Earth Day. This important STEM outreach enables elementary school students to do hands-on activities related to environmental issues.
PSU Chemistry faculty and undergraduates visit middle school students at Plymouth Elementary School as part of an annual National Chemistry Week event. This year’s theme was Candy, The Sweet Side of Chemistry. The middle schoolers eagerly participated in the many hands-on activities, like the crystallization process and the chemistry behind sour candy. This year marked the 10th […]
Early in the Fall semester, chemistry and biotechnology majors gather at a faculty home to enjoy some food, conversation and some geocaching and hiking at a nearby conservation area. The event enables students to spend some time with others in their majors, and meet the faculty in a non-academic setting.
