PSU Chemistry faculty and undergraduates visit middle school students at Plymouth Elementary School as part of an annual National Chemistry Week event. This year’s theme was Candy, The Sweet Side of Chemistry. The middle schoolers eagerly participated in the many hands-on activities, like the crystallization process and the chemistry behind sour candy. This year marked the 10th […]
Early in the Fall semester, chemistry and biotechnology majors gather at a faculty home to enjoy some food, conversation and some geocaching and hiking at a nearby conservation area. The event enables students to spend some time with others in their majors, and meet the faculty in a non-academic setting.
Undergraduate students in chemistry and biotechnology created an American Chemical Society (ACS) Student Chapter here at PSU. Appropriately, students purchased official, monogrammed ACS lab coats, and they wear them proudly.
Chemistry and Biotechnology students and faculty enjoy a day on the lake at the annual, end of the year cook-out!
Each year, PSU chemists travel to the local Plymouth Elementary School during Chemists Celebrate Earth Day. Several undergraduates assist with the hands-on activities in this STEM-related outreach.
