Mr. O’Brien lives in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He teaches the capstone course in the Business School.  He is a corporate advisor in the global tech and healthcare industry focusing on restructuring and growth.

Mr. O’Brien serves as a director of the Wright Museum and a trustee of the Huggins Hospital Charitable Foundation. He also sits on the Planning Board of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

He recently served as Senior Vice President and board advisor of the Harvard Medical School Affiliate, Joslin Diabetes Center and COO of its Strategic Initiatives organization.

Prior to his leadership role at the Joslin, he was the Special Assistant to the Massachusetts Secretary of Economic Development during Governor Romney’s administration.

Mr. O’Brien retired from Global Crossing Inc. in 2006. He was Executive Vice President of the Enterprise organization and led the firm’s successful post bankruptcy activities from London, England.

His career experiences include President of GTE Telecom, and Senior Vice President of Genuity, the world’s 3rd largest internet IPO.  Earlier he served as Vice President and General Manager of AT&T/NCR.

A native of Boston, Mr. O’Brien has an MBA from Suffolk University. He also attended Dartmouth’s Tuck Executive Program and AT&T’s Executive Development program at Princeton.

He is a past director of the Commonwealth Corporation, Envoy World Wide and the Hamilton County Business Incubator in Cincinnati Ohio. He was also the Chairman of the Conference Board’s Council of Services Marketing Executives.
