The Small Business Support Center (SBSC) provides business counseling and support to current and prospective small business owners. The Center is a cooperative effort of the local community and is supported and funded by Plymouth State University. The Center is an integral component of the local area economic development planning strategy.
Strategic planning is a fundamental approach to business management. Technology, competition, and environmental factors have made the business environment less stable and less predictable. To survive and prosper, it is crucial to take the time to identify the markets in which you are most likely to succeed, and acknowledge the corresponding resource demands. Strategic planning involves collecting, screening, and analyzing information about the business environment. Through careful review of organizational strengths, weaknesses, and threats, areas of opportunity can be identified. A clear, holistic understanding of your business is necessary to develop a mission and establish goals and objectives.
