Admission Requirements

We are delighted that you are considering applying to one of our programs. Admissions criteria include consideration of your (1) potential success in forming effective and culturally-relevant interpersonal relationships, (2) aptitude for graduate-level study, and (3) career goals. For this reason, admission into the Counselor Education and School Psychology’s master’s, CAGS, and professional certification programs involves a two-part process where these criteria are assessed.

You must apply to the PSU College of Graduate Studies and participate in the Counselor Education and School Psychology Group Admissions Interview. Candidates interested in the Personal and Organizational Wellness and Human Relations programs are not required to participate in a group interview.

The Group Admissions Interview is a half-day event held in January, April, July, and October, and involves an informational session,  a group interview and an optional tour. Participation in the interview process is open to any prospective student and is not dependent on having completed the application process to the College of Graduate Studies.
