Winterim 2016 offering: CJ3710 “Intro to Cyber Criminology

This course provides an introduction to the history, terminology, investigation and legal issues related to internet and computer crime and the examination of digital evidence. Topics covered will include but are not limited to sex crimes, hacking, cyberbullying, financial scams and fraud, cyber-terrorism and espionage, behavioral profile of offenders and computer forensics.

A blend of criminal law and criminal procedure. Constitutional rights and procedures are examined in a process which begins with the law making process and culminates with the end of legal proceedings against the accused. Text readings, legal research, reports, field assignments, memoranda and debate facilitate an understanding of the US legal system. Falls and Springs. Prerequisite(s): CJ 1010.
