Korey O’Brien (Bachelor of Arts, 2012): Intern, Fox TV-25, Deham, MA
“I consider the Communication and Media Studies Department at Plymouth State University to be the foundation of where I’m at now. I am currently an intern at Fox 25 in Dedham, MA, and I will be graduating from Emerson College in May 2014 with a masters degree in broadcast journalism. I had no idea how the classes I took and the connections I made at Plymouth would expand my ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and continue to grow in my field. While I do not have a job yet, the experiences I’ve had in the past few years really lead back to my time at Plymouth, both inside and out of the classroom. I would consider myself successful at this early point in my life because I’ve been able to accomplish enormous things. As a student journalist, I’ve covered the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombing and other events considered to be important and historical.”
Michael Pappalardo (Bachelor of Arts, 2012): National Sales and Marketing Coordinator for King TV-5 News, Seattle, WA
“I am proud to call myself a Plymouth State University graduate. Without question my degree in Communication and Media Studies has prepared me with a wealth of knowledge and skills considered critical for beginning a career in the broadcast industry. The guidance, instruction and encouragement that I have received from the exceptional Communication department faculty has helped me to pursue my dreams while setting me on the path accomplishing my goals of working in the field of broadcasting. I credit my professors with instilling in me a professional attitude and a standard of excellence essential for success in this industry. I could not be where I am today without their support and without this degree from Plymouth State University.”
