Examines a variety of assessment strategies and their uses in supporting learning and informing practice and decision-making. Emphasis on assessments that are responsible, ethical and appropriate for diverse children. Examines how quantitative data are used to inform early childhood practice. Promotes the importance of establishing assessment partnerships with families and other professionals. Requires 3 to 6 hours of field experience in early childhood settings. Falls and Springs.
