Introduces the foundations of children?s literature in the context of children, families, and the larger community. Literature is the lens through which students explore contemporary issues in childhood studies (e.g., disability, diversity, advocacy, development). Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to critique, select, and use children?s literature in a variety of educational settings. Springs beginning 2014.
