CD 3000 - Philosophical and Historical Perspectives on the Child in Society
Traces through the history of Western philosophy the origins of the various components of the contemporary American world view as these influence child-rearing and education today. Students learn how a culture's beliefs and ideologies are reflected in the education and treatment of children and explore the complex philosophical and historical origins of contemporary issues affecting children.
