About Ms. Purtill
MaryAnne Purtill has been serving as the Academic Advising Coordinator for the Education Department at Plymouth State University since 2003. Since then she has become the department’s expert on the PRAXIS exam for teacher certification. Whether you need practice tests, reference materials, study skills advice or just some relaxation, Ms. Purtill is the person for you! If you need a pick-me-up, she always has toys and candy, and visitors are always welcome! As the Academic Advising Coordinator Ms. Purtill can also answer advising questions if your own advisor is unavailable.
Ms. Purtill earned a Bachelor’s degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH majoring in Psychology. While working in the Admissions Office at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences/Boston (MCPHS), she discovered her desire to work with college students on a one-on-one basis. Ms. Purtill went on to earn her M.S. in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Upon earning this degree, she began working as an Academic Counselor with the Academic Support Services department at MCPHS with a focus on tutoring and assisting those students who were having difficulties both in and outside the classroom.
She currently lives in Thornton, NH with her husband and cat.
