PE 2415 - Introduction to Physical Education and Health Instruction
Offered: Fall and Spring.
Provides an examination of the foundations of education and the motivations for selecting teaching as a profession. This includes health and physical education within the confines of K-12 public education. Topics include societal issues affecting public education, pre-service teacher preparation at the University, and a review of American education history. Includes an introduction to lesson planning and classroom/gymnasium management techniques. Students complete 10 hours of observation/participation in the public schools. Subscription to a specific electronic portfolio. Springs.
