			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Michael Kopish</strong> led a teacher training session titled: “<em>Teaching the Trade-offs and Dilemmas of Globalization”</em> at the National Council for Social Studies Conference in Seattle. The workshop was designed for 5-12 social studies teachers who are interested in teaching themes, issues, and topics of globalization. Training included in the workshop focused on the development of teacher content knowledge, methods and strategies for classroom instruction, and access to resources and technologies for the classroom. He also gave a conference presentation titled:  <em>“<em>Countering the Attacks on Public Education &#8211; Policy Influences and Implications for New Hampshire”</em></em> at the New Hampshire Council for Social Studies Conference in Manchester.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Marcia Schmidt Blaine has worked as the Faculty Fellow for the Museum of the White Mountains for the past year and as the humanist for the first exhibit.  She wrote the text for the exhibit, and the catalogue, <em>Passing Through: The Allure of the White Mountains</em>, which was published in mid February.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Leo Sandy attended the U.S.S. Enterprise CVN 65 Inactivation Ceremony in Norfolk, Virginia last weekend.  He is a &#8220;plank owner&#8221; of the ship, meaning that he was in the first crew 50 years ago. <h3 id="papers"><strong>Papers</strong></h3>
<p>Papers, of approximately 15-20 min. reading time, on any aspect of Russell’s work or life are welcome. Papers marking the 100<sup>th</sup> anniversary of BR’s <em>Problems of Philosophy</em> are especially welcome.</p>
<h3 id="student-essay-competition"><strong>Student Essay Competition</strong></h3>
<p>Students, both graduate and undergraduate, are also encouraged to submit papers (about 10 pages) for the annual BRS Student Essay Competition. Cash prizes ($100) will be awarded to the best graduate and best undergraduate essay on any aspect of Russell’s work. Essays on <em>Problems</em> are especially welcome.</p>
