About Professor Hehir

George Hehir has been teaching math here at PSU since 2004. He likes the liberal arts approach to Mathematics and the Humanities which allows students to see that math goes beyond numbers and formulas. In nature mathematics is all around us both sight seen and unseen on a daily basis in ways that most of us do not realize. George considers himself fortunate to have taught all ages from kindergarten to college level courses and adult education in many a diverse setting. These include two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland as well as tours in international settings in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Guam, Nepal and the Marshall Islands. In his spare time George enjoys reading, mostly non-fiction, sharing an empty nest life style with his wife of over thirty years who is familiar to many in the dining hall, his two pugs and living in such a wonderful place as Plymouth.
