About Professor VanderWolk

A native of New Hampshire, Dr. VanderWolk spent 25 years living on the left side of the river up on the Canadian border and teaching in the low-residency Adult Degree Program at Vermont College. The natural world, especially in the North Country, is the most important thing in her life. She even built her own house out of logs harvested on her property. In 2009, she and her husband, a Master Maine Guide, bought a set of sporting camps on a small lake just over the border in the Rangeley Lakes region of western Maine where they can fish, paddle, and hunt to their hearts’ content. She recently retired from fulltime teaching but keeps her hand in by substituting at local North Country public schools and teaching as an adjunct at a variety of colleges. Her primary fields are Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Mathematics, Math and Science Education, History, Anthropology and Research Methods.
