Plymouth State University is located at 17 High Street, Plymouth, NH 03246. Use Google or Mapquest to obtain directions from your home, or refer to the directions page for general directions. Dancers should report to PSU’s Silver Center for the Arts upon arrival; this building is located on Main Street, and is visible from the traffic circle.
Parking passes are available for download. You may make copies for the number of vehicles you are bringing to the event. Parking passes are only valid for the lots adjacent to PSU’s Silver Center for the Arts. To avoid a costly ticket, please remember to park only in these areas. Metered parking is also available along Main St. in Plymouth (bring change if you choose this option).
Please arrive at PSU by 9 a.m. to check in at the registration table in the lobby of the Silver Center for the Arts. Students will be directed to their classes after checking in, and classes will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
A schedule of events is available. This year, classes will be held in the following locations: the Dance Studio and Hanaway Theater in the Silver Center for the arts, and the Courtroom in the Hartman Union Building (HUB). Campus maps (PDF) are available for download, but don’t worry—PSU dance students will be stationed in and around these buildings if you need any assistance.
You’ll be dancing all day, so bring plenty of healthy snacks and water to keep your energy level up! Because the lunch break is only 1 hour, we recommend that you pack a bag lunch to eat in the Silver Center for the Arts’ Studio Theater. For dinner, there are plenty of options available within walking distance. Chase Street Market, Biederman’s Deli and Pub, Subway, Thai Smile, and The Lucky Dog Tavern and Grille are all on Main Street in Plymouth.
The informal showcase will run from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Silver Center Studio Theater. The showcase is free and open to parents and families. Students will demonstrate phrases and partnering work that was compiled during master classes.
Dancers and Gala ticket holders are invited to join us early at 7:30 p.m. for a light dessert reception before the performance. Fun treats will be ready for you to indulge your sweet tooth. Come dressed to impress!
Getting Ready for the Gala
After a long day of dancing, dancers will have access to several locker rooms around campus. They will have access to these rooms between 5:00 p.m. and 6 p.m. The campus bathrooms are not available for changing into Gala attire so be sure to use your locker room passes or make other arrangements. More details will be given the morning of the event.
The Gala Performance will begin at 8 p.m. in the Silver Center for the Arts’ Hanaway Theater. We encourage you to dress your best in ball gowns, prom dresses, suits, ties and if all else fails . . . jeans and t-shirts (we will not turn guests away!). Dancers participating in the Dance Premier may attend the Gala performance free of charge. Family and friends may purchase tickets through the Silver Center box office by phone (603) 535-ARTS, or online. Tickets ($10 – $30) will also be available at the box office one hour before the show.
PSU Dance Department apparel will be available for purchase most of the day. Apparel ranges in cost from $15 – $40.
Please contact the dance office at (603) 535-2713 with any questions.
