The PSU dance pedagogy curriculum is based on the curriculum standards set forth in the National Dance Education Organization’s standards for dance education and the New Hampshire K-12 Dance Curriculum Framework. While completion of this curriculum does not lead to any specific teaching certification, those who complete it will have the requisite competencies to teach dance in a variety of settings.
Students who have completed the dance pedagogy program are now teaching at: BP Studios (Plymouth, N.H.), Dance Inspirations (Franklin, N.H.), The New Hampton (N.H.) School, Sally’s School of Dance (Meredith, N.H.), Lakes Region Dance (Center Harbor, N.H.), Heather’s Contemporary School of Dance (Bethlehem, N.H.), Lorraine Spada’s School of Dance (Wilmington, Mass.), Heidelberg Youth Services (Heidelberg, Germany), Danse Papillon (Concord, N.H.), Bedford Dance Center (Bedford, N.H.), Royal Palace Dance Studio (Manchester, N.H.) and Dance Progressions (Derry, N.H.)
