Class schedules and adminstration

Below are some resources to use when trying to create your course schedule, while satisfying all graduation requirements.

  • Academic Catalog – In addition to learning about the academic policies at PSU, the catalog provides a sample schedule for each semester that you’re in college, depending on your major.  Look for Psychology recommendations in the Psychology section (e.g., in the 2012-2013 catalog, see p.172-175).
  • Class Schedule Search – Note that you must choose an academic department in order for the other search options to work!
  • Degree evaluation – Can’t remember which requirements you’ve already filled?  Log in to banner to complete a degree evaluation:
  1. Log in to myPlymouth.
  2. Click on the Services tab.
  3. Click on Student.
  4. Click on Student and Bursar Records.
  5. Click on the Degree Evaluation option.
  6. Click the blue link at the bottom to Generate a New Evaluation.
  7. Select your major and click Generate Request.
  8. Select Detail Requirements, then click Submit.
  9. Requirements that you have not met should appear in red.  If you notice any errors, please contact me as soon as possible.
  • Planning grid – This may make it easier to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Accessing the registration portal – Can’t remember how to get to the add/drop screen?  Here are some step-by-step directions:
  1. Log in to myPlymouth.
  2. Click on the Services tab.
  3. In the “Banner Self Service” channel, click the Student & Financial Aid link.
  4. Click on Registration.
  5. Click on Add/Drop Classes.
  6. Select the appropriate term.
  7. You will be asked for an Alternate Pin. Your alternate pin will be given to you by me.
  8. You are now in the Add/Drop Classes page.
  • Registration errors – This list will tell you what particular errors mean and how to address them.
  • Forms – If you need to change your major/minor or do anything else that requires some paperwork, you can probably find the appropriate form here.
  • More forms – Still can’t find the form you need?  Look here instead.
  • Degree options – Look here if you want to know more about the differences among the degree options available in Psychology.
  • Undergraduate studies – Includes complete lists of requirements for all academic majors and minors, provides instructions for transferring credits, contains info about academic integrity, fair grading, etc.
  • Summer, winterim, and online courses – The Frost School homepage has information about registration, tuition, etc.  Students may complete up to 6 credits per winterim and up to 9 credits per summer.
  • Registrar – Still can’t find what you need?  It may be best to go straight to the source!
  • Procedure for changing advisors – Students wishing to change advisors may request reassignment at the Undergraduate Advising Center located in Mary Lyon 034. Any student who would like to be reassigned to a particular advisor must first ask that advisor. If the faculty member agrees, the request is then processed. No paperwork is necessary.
  • Undergraduate Advising Center – STILL can’t find what you need?  Ask the advising experts.
  • Graduation and commencement requirements – The time to examine this checklist is the fall semester of your senior year. (Remember that degree requests must be submitted by Dec 3.)
