BA Tourism Management and Policy

The Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Management and Policy (TMP) will prepare you for an exciting and rewarding career in the growing tourism industry by exploring the relationship among tourism, the natural and human environment, and the economy of locales, regions, and states; and by examining the history and current role of the travel and tourism industry in society, and the challenges facing the industry. Specifically, the program will prepare you to:

  • assist planners, chambers of commerce, state and municipal officials, members of the hospitality industry, and others to bring greater value and efficiency to a broad range of tourism and hospitality ventures;
  • track trends within the tourism industry and disseminate them effectively;
  • help industry professionals identify challenges and prospects, establish goals and objectives, identify needs, determine appropriate courses of action, and communicate effectively to various constituencies.
