Courses

The 120-credit curriculum provides content in human behavior and the social environment, social welfare policy and services, practice theory and skills, and research. The field education component (450 supervised hours) provides students with a hands-on learning experience in social service agencies throughout New Hampshire. The curriculum integrates content on values and ethics, human diversity, populations-at-risk, and the promotion of social and economic justice. Options are available in aging services, child and family services, health services, mental health services, and social services for Spanish-speaking communities.

SW 3800 - Social Work Internship
Credits: 1-9
This course is repeatable
The internship engages students in workplace settings and provides an opportunity to learn about various fields of practice. Individually arranged with instructor who will supervise internship. Does not fulfill requirements of Social Work Practicum courses (SW 4430, SW 4440, SW 4450, SW 4460, SW 4470). Letter graded. Repeatable for credit. Division of Continuing Education. Summer or Winterim. Prerequisite(s): Junior or Senior status and permission of the Department Chair.
