IS 4250 - Perspectives on Parent/Child Relationships
Prerequisite(s): JUNIOR STATUS
Examines relationships between parents and children from the decision to become a parent through parenting adult children, as seen through literature and an examination of developmental and cultural factors. Contrasts the felt experience of the parent/child relationship as portrayed in fiction, non-fiction and poetry with cultural images from the media, popular culture and psychological literature. Students use all of these perspectives to reflect on their own experiences of the parent/child relationship. Perspectives integrated: LITY, SPSY. Falls. Prerequisite(s): junior status. (INTG)
